Javier was raised in El Paso, TX and had a passion for cooking at a young age. He quickly knew that his desire to learn how to cook would change his life. He went to Culinary School in San Antonio and after working in a few restaurants in Texas, decided to sharpen his skills by moving to Paris, France . From his experience there, he accumulated a wealth of knowledge and fine tuned his techniques in baking and cooking. He later moved to Las Vegas, and landed his first Executive Chef position at Tremezzo at the age of 25. He since moved on to other restaurants expanding his knowledge into other cuisines including Mi Casa, Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse, Mercadito, Brooklyn Bowl and Whist Stove & Spirits.
Strong feelings for the concept of Kitchen Table began with his upbringing. "The name was not an idea, but more of a feeling."
Javier says, "We started our day at the kitchen table and ended it there. From the food to the discipline, haha...but that is were it was at, that is home."
We want our table to be a place where you can start and finish your day. Meet new people in the neighborhood, socialize in person, get to know one another - something that seems quite rare these days.
